Arnaud Giral

After receiving instruction from the Newark School of Violin Making in England, I voluntarily self-taught in making period instruments. This leads me to develop a personal approach where my research is constantly confronted with the practical through the making of my instruments (Quartet and Viola da gamba). I share my time between making and research on period instruments with original models, the written sources (treaties, manuscripts,...) and iconography. Thereby, I increase continuously my knowledge and capabilities in the field of authentic and period instrument making.
